Tecumseh Hollow Ware Co.

Location: Tecumseh, Lenawee County, Michigan
Founders: ?
Period of Production: ca. 1897
Products Manufactured: Limited Line

Little to no concrete information is avalailable to confirm the origin of skillets similar to those of Erie and Wagner of the late 1800s marked simply "TECUMSEH". The named company's southeastern Michigan location in proximity to the robust cast iron hollow ware manufacturing trade of Western Ohio makes it a prime candidate. As with Griswold's use of "ERIE", however, it could merely be the veneration of its home locale by another unknown foundry.

Tecumseh Timeline

1897 - County directory listings indicate multiple employees of named company, although the company name does not appear in either section listing foundries or hollow ware manufacturers.
