Cahill Iron Works Timeline

1875 - Cahill’s Architectural Brass and Iron Works founded with an investment of $3,000.
1885 - Cahill Iron Works employs 55 workers producing $75,000 worth of products per year.
1888 - Frank H. Caldwell and Frank Whiteside join as investors in the Cahill Iron Works.
1889 - J.T. Cahill dies on June 27, 1889 following a period of ill health. Frank H. Caldwell becomes president, with J.J. Mahoney as vice-president.
1889 - Management team continues from 1889 through 1921.
1909 - Foundry building damaged by fire.
1910 - Company and sixteen others named in federal anti-trust suit alleging price fixing of wholesale enameled iron ware sanitary fixtures.
1920 - Mutual Enamel Ware Company incorporated by the directors of Cahill Iron Works in order to increase its production of enameled bath fixtures.
1921 - Company bought by Crane Enameling Company of Chattanooga, transfer completed in 1922.
