Stover primarily produced machinery and equipment for agricultural uses. A bicycle company was one of his many endeavors. Among patents held were those for a corn cultivator, a windmill for powering well pumps, and the "coaster" bicycle brake which would go on to become an industry standard.

Hollow ware produced appears to be confined mainly to waffle irons, including a "Stover Junior" toy model.

1839 - Daniel Stover born in Greencastle, PA.
1862 - After various travels, including gold mining on the West Coast, Stover settles in Freeport, IL.
1866 - Various machinery invented and manufactured under the name Stover Experimental Works.
1879 - Stover Manufacturing Co. incorporated.
