stripping advice

hi all! n00b here. i have this lovely griswold from my grandmother-in-law. looks like maybe the decades of seasoning has chipped off, but i'm not exactly sure. pix attached (back so you can confirm the model). thoughts on easiest way to bring her back to life? not sure if i can just re-stack the seasoning or i need to strip it down, or if it's worse than i think... thanks in advance for any ideas. =j

Hard to tell why it's chipping off. But if you season over it, and what's not chipping off now starts to chip off later, well... Better to start anew and get it even and right.
 
I use the oven cleaner method ......I have some great luck with it, but you got to repeat sometimes a few times. But, Im known for pulling it too quik, impatient.
