I bought a BSR #5 some time back. Noticed a lighter colored area about the the size of a quarter, only oblong...like it was made by something liquid. After stripping the skillet using easy-off, the area was still visible. So, thinking it might be lead, I bought the lead testing sticks, but it didn't test positive. I've seasoned and used the skillet for 6 months or so and the area hasn't blackened-up like the rest of the skillet.
Just looking for comments on what may have made this lighter area.
