Welcome!

People around here are quite helpful. What is it you're looking for help with? Identification? Cleaning and Seasoning? Maintenance? If you give us some details about what you're looking for, you'll definitely find help here.

And if you've got some pictures of your kettle, we'd enjoy seeing them and it may help us answer your questions better.

Good morning from Alabama. Thank you for the welcome. I've attempted to down load some photo's. Not sure if I did it right. The service in my area is terrible so my computer is slow. The tea kettle has a number 8 on the swivel lid and on the under part of the lid are raised words" double star. I would like to get some history on it i.e. identification, and how to restore it.

Here are some photos of a cast iron tea kettle I have. Sorry, for some reason I'm doing something wrong with attempting to down load photo's. My apologies in advance if several pop up.

Teresa, there is some helpful information on posting pictures in the Membership Information forum...which you should have access to now that you're registered. Perhaps that will help.

This recent post has a tidbit about restoring a tea kettle, and it might be a starting point:

I have a question. I was at a yard sale the other day and the lady had a cast iron pot. A couple walked up and the wife said to the husband " look honey a double zero" and pointed at the pot. What did she mean. Does that mean anything significant? Just curious...Thanks.

Teresa,
When you log on to Cast Iron Collector you will see several icons to click on. If you click on the "Home Page" it will take you to all the information one will need to better understand cast iron collecting. When you get to that page you will see several icons on the left side of that page with sub-titles having most any information you may desire "except photo uploading"
Follow DougD instructions for pictures and you will be fine.
Best of luck.
