Hi, I'm Kim and new to the site.

Though I've checked out this site several times over the last 6+ months or so, I've just signed up this evening. I've been collecting CI for about 2 years (vintage enamel as well as bare iron). I just purchased a Marietta PA 9 IN fry pan on eBay today along with a 2nd edition #7 ERIE and a Wapak waffle iron w/the native american logo, all in mint/great condition, just need cleaning/seasoning. Was wondering if anyone can tell be about the Marietta piece? It seems you have to have a degree in archeology to dig up any info on this foundry and their cookware. I believe it must be pre 1900s as it has a gate mark on the bottom. It has what is considered a "fancy" handle and says "Marietta PA" in curved capital letters at the top and "9 IN" in curved capital letter on the bottom. There also appears to be a founder's/caster's mark toward the bottom closer to the "9 IN" marking. I'd enclose images, but can't seem to find a link to do so.

Looking forward to being part of the TCIC community here. I've caught the antique CI bug. Gawd help me!!! LOL

Thx so much, that's pretty interesting. Yep, I love the old/vintage stuff. I grew up (for a few years) as a young child in West Chester PA so I'm sort of familiar with the area. Looks like I'll have to do some digging on this one.

Thx Doug, that helps to narrow it down. Yep the pan I bought looks almost exactly like the fry pan in the picture provided by the other member, but mine has a little maker's mark just above the "N" in "IN"
