Good Afternoon All,

I've bought my first piece of cast iron (#3 skillet) and I am having trouble identifying the maker. I think it is a lodge piece because of the ring with 3 insets. But the piece has markings I can not find anywhere on the net. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I assume it was made prior to 1960 because no made in the USA mark. The journey has begun. Thanks & Regards, Jeffrey

Lodge, probably early 1950s. According to their website they started using a form of mold making automation as early as 1950. The extra marks could just be some unusual pattern identifiers.

Thanks for the information. Cooks like a dream. Much better than modern non-stick pans. Fried an egg with a dab of butter and egg slid around the pan no sticking at all. Sweet. I am a believer!
