I've always loved cast iron. I was hooked when I found my great grandmother's Iron Mountain set of three pans under my grandmother's garage in Dubuque, IA. I've used them for twenty years and they are perfect.
I recently started going to a local antique joint, really more of a junk yard (http://clinesantiquesmpnc.com/) and finding items i like and restoring them. Nothing for sale, just to keep. I found this site in an effort to find out about rust removal and found a whole new world. I've since set up an electrolysis tank and a lye bath and have rescued a good number of pans from the heaps, restored them, and given them away to friends. It's been great fun for me to see the results and share with friends.
