Help identifying spider pan w/ molder mark JS

JMarkS

New member
Any help in identifying the piece below would be appreciated. The piece that I am requesting help with is a spider pan with the following dimensions:

- outside pan diameter = 9 7/8"
- handle length = 9 5/8" long, 1 1/8" wide at the pan & 1/2" wide at the end
- 3 legs 2" high
- Pan height is 4 1/2" overall with legs or 2 1/2" high without legs

The only identifying mark is a rather primitive molder mark of "J S". The casting is rather crude in that it is bumpy.

As spiders go, the design is very unusual. The curved, thin, rimless walls are not typical. Makes me tend to think it's not all that old.
