Hello Seasoned CI Vets!

Hi, I've recently found the joy of cast iron cooking. Despite what my Mom told me about staying away from CI, I'm jumping in, about 30 years late, but still doing so. I remember going into antique stores and flea markets when they couldn't price it low enough to sell. Now that I know how to care for it, I'm going to start looking for older, smoother pieces that I can use and then pass on. I joined to expand my knowledge of CI beyond the basics.

Welcome, Your line....

antique stores and flea markets when they couldn't price it low enough to sell.

Rings a bell with me. Growing up around flea markets since I was 8-10 years old, I saw TONS of those old rusty, dirty pans, pots, etc... I didn't care, through my 20's and 30's I collected other "better" things. Hmm 15 years later and I wish I would have picked up all that old iron for pennies on the dollar. I could be the king of rare iron on ebay and retire!
