Hello, I stumbled upon this site some time ago and am grateful for the excellent advice on refinishing cast iron. I used the oven cleaner method on a thrift store griswold which has become one of my favorite skillets. I was raised on iron pans and my first pan was a hand me down from my mom many years ago when I first moved out on my own. I now own more cast iron than necessary but I justify it by trying to use it all as often as possible. I also have a fair amount of Le Creuset some vintage some new. Anyhow, thank you for your great site! I really appreciate it.
