Heart Casting mark on a Lodge pan?

I have a Lodge cornbread stick pan I got at an auction. It has a "Heart" casting on the back (see photos) and I have never seen this before on this type pan. I have seen it on other Lodge pans though. Any idea what the significance is with this marking?

It has always been my understanding, and according to someone who asked Lodge:

"Got a reply from Lodge today. It reads...

The heart was used on the pattern to differentiate which shift a particular casting was run on, like 2nd Shift."
