Greetings,

I've been a long-time lurker here. I can never remember a time without Cast iron --My Mom uses it , My Grandmother used it and it's always been around.

I bought my own brand new set of Lodge pans way back in the 1980's and still use them today. When my Grandmother passed, I inherited quite a few older pieces of CI from her, and still use most of them to this day.

These days, I pick up all the CI I can at yard sales, garage sales, flea markets. etc. My wife at first complained I was a hoarder with respect to CI, however, she sees the pecuniary value of CI and also uses them on practically a daily basis.

Thank you for having me on this forum, it will be good to share information with others who have been bitten by the CI bug. :tasty:

Welcome, Pat! It's very nice to know that there are more folks out there who treasure and use cast iron utensils, whether purchased new or inherited.

Pat, welcome! And thank you for making me have to look up a word. As a product of the Alabama public school system, I wasn't taught fancy words like "pecuniary". :)
