Hi.
My name is Roland, and I'm an addict. Throughout my entire life I've thought of myself as being one impervious to addiction, looking down upon weaklings who would allow themselves to succumb to impulses which then lead them to uncontrollable habits, and one day I found myself looking up at my former self.
I should have seen it coming, when I would return from youthful camping excursions without my aluminum cookware, having lost them to fire, harder utensils, accidental crushes and wild animals. I ignored the obvious sign when I was repulsed at the thought of where the remains of the bottom of my 'former' non-stick teflon skillet went...thoughts of our long-lost iron-ware resounding in my mind.
Then one day, while perusing the tabled articles offered by a gentleman at a local flea market for collectables for yet another hobby, I looked beneath it, and there saw a pile of rusting iron of all sizes and shapes. Remnant photos of my former culinary friends flashed before me, and I found myself holding aloft about 4lbs of pan. I could hear Mrs. B making sounds, but all I remember of the incident was peeling a few greenbacks from my wallet and floating away a happy man. I found her later...
When we got home, I realized that I knew not what to do - steel wool and soap were doing their best to beat back the oxy-beast, but they needed assistance, and I reached to the only place I knew I might find some - Youtube. There, I came upon two ferrous sensei's - Jeffrey Rogers and E.D. Modemac. At last, I had options! A couple of days later yielded for me (what I now know to be) a Griswold large block 9 EPU.
One year and a few more additions later, I find me accepting my 'obsession' as a healthy one. In fact, Mrs. B cooked breakfast for us in that No.9 just this morning! My desire for more knowledge on the subject is what brought me to this site, and the grace of your webmaster brought me to membership - for that I am thankful. It's like receiving a new book that I'm looking forward to reading. ;)

Welcome Roland, you will find many pieces to see here and spark your interest of what you think you might need next. Trust me I've seen a number of items I would of never thought about in the past before I was here that I'm looking for now. I enjoy cooking and the cast iron is just a new avenue for me to experiment with.
