CI Cooker in GA

Greetings!
I am new here, but not new to CI cooking.
The forum looks like a great place for CI cookers and collectors
to share their love and appreciation for this wonderful
tradition.
Great to see a "revival"
We hardly ever thought twice about CI as having gone out of style
because its always been a part of kitchen life.
My mom cooked with it, my grandmother; almost everyone had at least one piece of CI int heir kitchen.
My oldest pieces are a 10 inch skillet and a beautiful
deep fry skillet with domed lid.
Both are smooth finished.
I bought my 10 inch skillet over 30 years
ago and the domed lid fryer was my MiL's.
I don't consider my self a "collector" but if I come across an interesting piece, I'll bring it home.
I look forward to visiting the forum.

Have to say, when it comes to CI, Georgia represents!!!
 
I'm a newbie collector (7 pieces so far) near Augusta. Where are the rest of you Georgia folks located?

Anyone nearby in South Carolina?

Hoping there might be an "advanced" collector near me. I could use a mentor...

We are about 60 miles NE of ATL.
Its great to see so many who are interested in
CI!
The only pieces missing from my collection are the corn pone
irons. I had 2 of them and have no idea what happened to them.
Lost in a move? gave to one of the kids?)
Do any of you display your cast iron on the kitchen walls?
Would love to see photos.
I have one small area on a wall but would have to put up some
wood or beadboard first.

We've got some hanging in our kitchen. First time attaching pictures, so hopefully they show up. There's also a picture of the brackets that we use to hang the iron (we spray paint them black).

Yea I'm from south Carolina! I know I'm no the only one!?!? I have to say there's lots of people from the south east on this form!:-) that's a lot of iron in the kitchen!!!!!!nice:-)
 
JB: Your wall mounted collection looks GREAT!!!
I have only one useable wall in the kitchen but I have to be able to
open the oven door, (and the cabinet doors above) so I would only be able to use half of the wall vertically.
My dining room walls are bare, so I may have to
consider that room.
