This possibility arose in another group as well as some foundry workers would make one off's. I did a pencil rub with no outcome. It seems odd to me that the underside is enameled. If it wasn't for all the crud on top and handle I would've thought the enamel side would be for cooking.It is unusual, perhaps a custom job. Can any markings be made out under the enamel? And if so where?
Thank you for your assistance.Third party firms were known to make enamel ware from existing bare iron pieces. Whether they sourced the pans directly from a manufacturer or procured them on their own is uncertain.
