Is this waffle iron an unmarked Griswold or, an Iron Mountain? I have not knowingly come across any of Griswold's other lines before. Thank you for your assistance!
Wouldn't be Iron Mountain, there were no waffle irons in its or its unpolished counterpart's line. The 976/977 pattern numbers explain the 975 pattern number on the #8 low handled base most often seen with 885/886 pans. It does not appear in either the BB or RB. Can't see from the photo what type of hinge this one has. There appears to a ghost of a previous patent date inscription under the top line.
It's an acorn hinge and the ghost patent date is very visible on it. The 975 pattern number on the base is barely visible. I suspect the back up bidder may have known something about it, more than I do because, the price went higher than I expected.
