Submersible heater for lye tank

Glass, iron and a murky solution might make that iffy. Unless you wall off a corner with say, some of that plastic eggcrate lighting grid. Also, thermostatically-controlled aquarium heaters are designed to comfortably keep things around 80°F in a room with ambient temp of around 65°F (assuming a heater rated at 2 watts per gallon of water, e.g. a 100 watt heater in a 50 gallon tank).

You might be able to use a barrel/drum heater. It would be a band that goes around the outside of your tank.

Very limited if using a plastic container for your lye tank. If using a metal tank, magnetic heaters normally used for larger engines blocks or oil pan would work. I would be real Leary of putting metal bands around plastic as those heaters can get hot, depending on the wattage. I have used them on the bottom of my parts washer tank in an unheated garage to keep it from freezing with good luck. 1500 watt unit though.
