Stainless steel as anode

I purchased a sheet of 20 gauge stainless steel 8" x 24" to use as an anode in e-tank. The 12-volt charger registers what I set (2 amps or 6 amps). Thought I would check it with a magnet, but the magnet would not stick to it. Will the SS still work as an anode if the SS will not attract a magnet?

TIA for any input!

I use 4" x 30" x 3/16" S.S. plates in my e tanks with great results.
After 3 years of moderate use I don't think I will have to replace them for a very long time.
And a magnet will not stick to S.S. so that is not an issue.
