If a web search for the answer to your cast iron cookware question has brought you directly to this forum, the information you seek may be covered in one of the many reference topics featured on the main website.
I often see smaller cast iron pieces referred to as "Salesman Samples" and "Toys". I know Toys were made and can find information on them, but were there "Salesman Samples" and how do you identify one vs a toy? Any information would be helpful.

Although it is possible they could have been used as samples, catalogs and ads confirm they were made as toys. There was at least one stove manufacturer who made small versions of their stoves so salesmen wouldn't have to lug around a full size unit. There are also miniature woodstoves that were produced as toys.
I have a small wood stove that says Queen on it. I looked it up, on ebay, and I found a few, but no real info. Anyways, they made it for some reason or another.
