new cast iron

my wife got me this spider and lid for $10 at a yard sale dont know how old or who made the spider. the spider has been cracked but repaired will make a nice display piece also got a lodge lid dont know how old the lid is. any help will be helpfull.

Probably 1920s for your Lodge cover. Later versions have a cast iron handle, not the round rod. I think that cover is for a deep skillet.
 
I thought that they did and the deep skillet I was thinking of in on p.228 in the red book. It has lips though so my assumption was off. I don't know about skillets without lips, perhaps a dutch oven? My collecting of Lodge and knowledge is limited.
 
Steve, with Lodge almost anything is possible. I know some of the newer ones called chicken fryers and marked cf don't have pour spouts.
