Walking around the local flea market today, I came across this piece. Paid $30... too much?? From what I can tell, this is a Lodge 3 notch #8. Can anyone tell me anymore about this piece?

Thanks!

There's no shortage of #8 skillets-- they were probably the most popular size. Collectors like to find Lodge pans in good condition to acquire as users-- no markings usually mean the average seller doesn't know who made it and hence won't put a premium price on it. This Lodge's markings place it late 1950s - early 1960s, not really vintage. If they were asking $30, an offer of $20 shouldn't have been seen as unreasonable, but this is a pan one would hope to find at a garage sale and pay $10 or $15 for.

Thanks for the feedback! First piece I found, I liked it so I snatched it up. The guy also had a 10 1/4” square skillet. In my post review, I think it is a BSR.… hope he has it next week.
