Merit cast iron

So I found a #7 Merit at a local antique store and I was aware that Griswold made them for Sears. My question is this: Were they the same quality iron as regular Griswold, just with a different name? What is the deal there? I can't find a whole lot of info online. They seem to be a little on the scarce side.
Thanks,
Jim

Although Sears juggled its store brands' names around as to which fell where in terms of the hierarchy of comparable quality at a given time, it seems Best Made, Puritan, and Merit, as made by Griswold, were all of quality on par with their own branded cookware.

In my opinion, every Iron Mountain, Merit, Best Made and Good Health I own or have come across, has been of comparable quality to the marked Griswold's. I also come across each of these with seemingly equal frequency, but that's just my experience.
