Have been collecting, and using, cast iron for a l-o-n-g time now, starting with a couple of former "spiders" inherited from my grandmother, which had their legs sawed off (sadness and tears), presumably for use on newer stoves and ranges. A few years ago, I got into Griswold cookware and now have a lot of that, plus a few other odds and ends of cast iron, most of which we have used. Love it!
Which brings me to the question of my day, which concerns an item picked up at a local thrift store at which my wife volunteers:
What is it, and where/when did it it originate? This area is an old German settlement area in the Texas Hill Country, and things show up from all sorts of places, so.....
Thanks, and really glad to be here!
