I have not cleaned this muffin pan yet, but as a newbie I would like to know whether this is real or fake.

Griswold's #10/948 muffin pan exists in 15 different variations, according to the Yellow Book. This early, Erie marked one is fairly common and reproductions are not known. Remember that fakes are typically sub-standard in casting quality, so suspicion of well-made pieces is usually unwarranted.
