Confirm ID, approx. age?

Found this today - assume it's a late unmarked Favorite/CHF. Is there any way to narrow down the age any? Seems and feels early to me, like the late 30's Favorite, but I'm pretty new at this, so any additional thoughts are welcome. Not cleaned up yet, but so far, the 12 in a diamond, and 3 notches on the underside of the handle are the only markings, and don't think the cleaning will reveal anything except a faint ghost if that. Also hoping that $20 was a reasonable price for this. No wobble, cracks, or apparent pitting. And the largest pan I have besides this is a #10, so I was real interested in this one. Never paid more than $10 for a pan so far.

I think $20 for pretty much any pre-automation #12 (in good shape) is a good price. That's a sizable chunk of iron.

I have seen this same pan IDed as Favorite before, but I might have to guess CHF. My FPW #12 is in storage, but IIRC, mine is more like an Erie copy, as I know it has a handle reinforcement pad and distinctive lip. Could be either, though, which is why it's usually always seen stated "late Favorite or CHF".

So if made by Favorite, obviously mid-30's. What about if made by CHF? Any way to narrow down the production date for them? I wonder when CHF stopped making pans like this.

CHF seems to have survived into the 1950s and perhaps 1960s. Whether they continued to produce hollow ware the entire time is questionable. There don't seem to be pieces seen marked "Made In USA", and, although they could have done so on paper labels, that would tend to indicate hollow ware production ceased before the late 50s or early 60s. If I had to guess (again) on this one, I'd say maybe late 30s to 40s. Notches like that are seen on the underside of some CHF hammered pieces, which are also dated in that range.
