BSR #8 Chicken Fryer

There was a time early in BSR's deployment of the DISA automated molding machines that they hadn't yet figured out how to implement the retractable hinged finger/loop handle on patterns. So, for a while tab handles or screw-on knobs were used. There was probably no need seen to shave down the lip covers on lids when pour lips were downsized as an accommodation to automated molding processes.

The first DISA machines were installed at BSR in 1966, so sometime thereabouts.
