Hello all,
I am new here and to vintage cast iron. I saw this the other day. Who is the maker? Is it worth getting since it’s painted?
Thanks.
Brian

Looks to be unmarked Wagner. Good user nothing special very common. Depending on what your cooking on just make sure it's flat. The reason it's painted may be due to warping or a crack.

The paint will come off, but just do not pay an artist price for the piece. Also, but not all the time as KevM stated "The reason it's painted may be due to warping or a crack." There was a time in a-lot of Americans kitchens that cast iron fell out of favor, so they were turned into wall painted art.
I have purchased quite a few with very good results.

Thanks. I’ll see if it’s warped. It’s under ten bucks so maybe a good deal.
