Weird Wagner Sidney O #5 with Wagner Ware #'ing scheme

Most Wagner Sidney pieces I've seen have the size on the handle and the size # repeated on the bottom ie 5 on top and bottom This one is a Wagner 5 with the Wagner Ware 1055 numbering convention on the bottom

Interesting. I have always thought the stylized logo preceded the use of catalog numbers. This is apparently a transitional piece. 1055 is the catalog number for a #5 regular skillet; catalog numbers are considered to have first come into use 1924.

that's what I was thinking as well It's a nice pan The Wagner's have a nice thin side wall I just got in a Wagner Ware 1058 with heat ring and it has much thicker walls I have it the lye bath now

I anticipated not finding this piece in the RB or BB, but it is indeed pictured, RB pg. 13. A #5, and with the same droopy N in Sidney and the same long tail on the R.
