Thanks for the ad and the wealth of information. I stopped collecting at 6 pieces. But i have a lot of questions.

I bought this broiler in a pile of iron in a rust garden. I’ve found some patent info, but it’s not exactly the same thing. I’ve seen two auction site post with a similar item. Would you say it’s roughly the same price point? It’s in good condition and it’s been through electrolysis and seasoning. I think it is rare and unusual. I’m in Sonoma ca. and curious if it’s value. I’ve been told you use it on a wood burning stove with the stove lid open. But I suppose outdoors on a grill would ok as well. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Always amusing the sellers who throw Griswold and Wagner into every listing title to drive search results. McConnell (for the patent ) is correct, though: https://patents.google.com/patent/US200622, even with the variation in the distribution of the holes. I suppose there are obviously some who would pay $200-300 for such, but they're probably not the average collector.

Thanks Doug, would the variations in design, such as multiple pour spouts, handle shape, hole patterns etc, require a different patent? Or is the patent awarded based on design concept and the variations are just “stylized”? Concept as in raised hole rims to channel grease to the edges? This is the description in the patent application. Function and form.
