Hi everyone, I'm new to the site as a member but have been a frequent visitor as I was learning about some cast iron pieces I had purchased many years ago and learning how to clean them etc.

I've built an electrolysis tank to clean my pieces and a few that I've picked up at thrift stores. Great fun.

I just wanted to thank you all for the great information found on this site. I've really enjoyed learning about cast iron.

Hopefully I will be able to pay it forward once I come up to speed.

Welcome.
I went the lazy way and have a lye bath and a molasses bath. Zero labor and cheap. My 5 gallon buckets are only good up to #8 so I had to drop $5 on a larger container today...
 
A good container for a lye set up is the snap lid tuffy which comes in 20 gal models. I use them for feed storage for my animals. Works great for lye .
