Hello everyone!

Recently, I've been interested in cast iron for cooking. I love to cook and wouldn't mind some top notch, older cookware. Not sure if I'll catch the antique collector bug, but roaming around antique shops has been fun so far!

I just moved to the DFW area and am starting with no cast iron skillets. The previous owners of this house left a gnarly, double sided grill and griddle. I cleaned it using the self cleaning oven method and came out tip top. Can't wait to find and use a new-to-me skillet!

As I've said, I'm interested in finding these for daily use. I think I'd like a Dutch Oven, waffle iron, and skillets.

Thanks for lending an ear!

Welcome Parke. If you're not sure what brand you want to start with, a good rule of thumb is to buy different #3 skillets. These are easy to come by and cheap to purchase so you can get a feel for what you like. Good luck and good hunting.
