Just found this old griddle and can't find anything on it. It has a "B" on one end near a handle and an "8" by the other handle. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are a few pics........All the best, Dave

Pieces of this shape and handle style were sold as sad iron heaters in the early 20th century, fitting across two adjacent stove eyes after the removal of a divider. They were sold in sizes to denote what diameter stove eyes they fit, normally 7, 8, and 9.

I don't know that anyone actually collects them, but they are useful as griddles. As to maker, sad iron heaters were an accessory to a stove and as such were supplied by stove manufacturers, of which there were probably as many or more as those who just made hollowware.
