I've been interested in cast iron cookware for some time, but only recently have I been looking around on the internet regarding it. My wife uses cast iron pans exclusively for whatever stovetop cooking she does.
My good friend owns a scrap yard and it's surprising how much good cast iron cookware winds up in it. Yesterday I stopped there and picked up a very nice older Lodge dutch oven with a lid. Some light rust but otherwise in great shape.
I always give my scrap to him for free so anything I can walk out of there carrying in my hands I can have for free. Works out pretty good.
