Hi all from Columbia SC. Found the site while researching a couple of pieces I had. I hadn't thought much about collecting CI until recently. My first (and only for a long time) piece was a BSR 8F frying pan that my mom gave me back in the 80's that she got from a relative many moons ago. When my son joined the boy scouts, I became interested in DO cooking. I got a 12" camp style for Christmas one year (from Target) and later picked up another used one, still not sure of the make. Since then I found a Lodge 3 notch 10SK (post 1960) in my step dad's garage. Lately I ran across a little Classic (I know, I know...) #4 DO in the same garage and a big fish fryer - I have no idea what it is, need to clean it up...Last week I bought a nice BSR 8E chicken Fryer @ the local antique mall. I've really enjoyed cleaning and working the CI and I'm afraid I might have caught the collecting fever. This sight contains a wealth of information. I've really enjoyed coming here and gaining knowledge. thanks for having me.

Welcome! Check out Four Oaks Farm in Lexington, SC. They sell restored vintage cast iron as well as new Lodge. Stopped there last summer while travelling to boy scout camp in NC. Bought some old fashioned candy there.

BTW, I have thought about having a cast iron swap meet in the GA/SC area. Columbia, SC might be a good location. Something to think about...

Thanks - Four Oaks Farm is on my daily route to and from work, and they are a customer of ours. Been by there a million times but never stopped in, but I will this week. Like the idea of the swap meet - le t me know if you need help with a location, etc....
