Neat Little Pot

Pick this up at an auction Sunday. Won 4 other items also but will post them later. In the cleaner now. This pot is 7" diameter and 4" deep. Handle looks to be original. Few minor rust pits on the inside bottom but rest is in very good condition. Only thing I could come close to identifying the maker is one very similar by Arcole Ironworks W.S. & Co. in Ohio in the 1830's. They had their brand cast into the side of that pot. Mine has no markings of any kind.

The chicken fryer is done. Got cooled down and a light coat of oil. Nice old Wagner in real good condition. Was very dirty when I got it.

That is a neat pot. Its hard to tell who made it, but its cool. I love Chicken Fryers! I have one just like that.

Finished the large pot today. Looks like about a 2.5 or 3 gallon. #5 on the pouring handle, and letters cast into the bottom. Looks like it sat in dirt etc for some time as the rust is rather deep. Guessing around 1860 or later but could be way off on that

The bail does have stop so it can will stay partially upright when in use. Lug on one side. Believe the letters are more natural looking with the W at 8 o'clock than when at the 10 o'clock.
