Howdy from NC

I am glad to have found your site. I love my cast iron, and I enjoy giving vintage pans to newly weds and as house warming gifts.

It never occurred to me that the pans I've found at yardsales had such a rich history. Folks sell the pans that belonged to their grandparents because of the build up from decades of use. I enjoy bringing them back to a useful state and giving them away.

Some of my finds have become my favorites for my own family.

Not a collector, but very interested in the history. I came across a pan that I cannot identify, but that is for another thread.

Welcome Ron.

I hope those you have given these gifts know and appreciate what they have sooner than later.

Wally

Welcome from Plymouth NC. I just gave my older Sister a #10 three notch Lodge Skillet (an early one with large pour spouts) along with a glass lid that I found in Goodwill. This one was my user, stripped and seasoned nice and black from use. It was a little tough to let go as it belonged to our Mother. But Love for my Sis overrode my selfishness.😇
