Holy Crud

Just pulled this one out of the pile to restore. The CRUD on the bottom actually measured 3/16 of an inch thick.
New CRUD record for me. This one will spend a week (or more) in the Lye bath.
You Can barely see the 8 on the handle. I think an unmarked Wagner (based on number and handle).
Will let you all know when cleaned.

Ya never know what you're gonna find under the crud. But some of my finest pans started out as the worst.

That is part of the fun of restoring CI. Lifting that pan out of the bath, and not knowing what will appear above the water line.
