Hi from North Georgia

I just joined and am looking for information on a skillet I just purchased. I normally only collect Griswold but I found this huge one made here in GA and had to get it. It is a #14 and is marked Cox FDY Quality Atlanta on the bottom. It has a heat ring and is in amazing seasoned condition. My question is, has anyone ever heard of this foundry or know anything of it's history...when it existed, what happened to it, etc? I can't find any info on it online at all other than it is on various foundry lists...any help would be very much appreciated.

The earliest mention I find of Cox Foundry in Atlanta is 1938, the latest 1987. A large skillet sold online last year, the photo showing a pan looking very much like a Lodge copy (or maybe from a Griswold). That the lettering is raised suggests it was either added to the sand mold at the time of casting or was adhered to the pattern rather than incise markings into it, as would be the case normally. Some of these are also apparently seen marked "Marvin Clark", the significance of which is unclear.

Hopefully these pics attached, it took forever...as you can see, it is sand cast with raised lettering on the bottom...
