I found this place while trying to figure out how to de-crud some cast iron that's been in the family for years, passed down from my mother-in-law. I'd always heard that CI was supposed to be non stick, but mine never was, and when I saw what a clean, properly seasoned pan looks like I understand!
SomI started with a piece I got at the flea market (10 bucks for 3 pans because the guy didn't want to haul them home) that turns out to be a Wagner #6 that dates back to the 1920s according to the collectors page. It's kind of neat to wonder about all the people who must have used it. Anyway, while it's not quite non stick, it's certainly getting there. It's also a "spinner," which doesn't matter a bit on my gas stove.
I'm excited now to work on the pieces with sentimental value, so expect to see some pics as I get them in shape!
