Hello Everybody,
I got started out on cast iron a few years ago when I got tired of teflon falling off my cooking pans. I was given an rusty made in Taiwan piece and had a friend show me a basic method of curing cast iron. I wasn't really happy about it, but starting with the basics and a lot of trial and error I figured out how to cure cast iron. Then some folks saw my pans and asked if I would sell any. In the last year I have been hunting down rusty, crispy, dusty pans and sell them to a growing customer base out of a consignment shop. I have used castironcollector.com to aid in helping me identify some of the older pans and thought the forum was worth a try. Admittedly, I wish I had got started earlier.
Some of my favorite finds are a Griswold Brownie (Golf Ball) Cake Pan, A No. 8 Griswold's Eire Fry Pan and a No. 866 Lamb Cake Pan.
Anyway, here is some before and after pics of the Brownie Cake Pan from Griswold I found shoved in the back of a pantry at an antique store around here.
Look forward to seeing the posts!
Jim
