Hello from North Carolina

I recently purchased a beautiful CI wood cook stove and am trying to find out more about it. On the top in cut out letters is the word "KNOXLINE". On the left side (if you are standing in front of it), the word "TENNESSEE BEAUTY" is embossed in large letters; on the right side is "KNOX STOVE WORKS KNOXVILLE TENNESSEE. There is a number on the top as well but I can't remember what it is (I will look when I get home). I am attaching a photo - I think it is beautiful! I have contacted Knox Stove Works via email but haven't heard anything back from them yet. Am hoping to have better luck with this forum. Any information on this stove is appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome from a fellow North Carolinian! You have acquired a really beautiful stove there! I can't wait to hear more about it. Hopefully Knox Stove Works will reply soon with more info on it! :)

I have been to the factory. They still make stoves yet no casting is done at the factory. The stoves they sell now are coal and wood burning stoves. At one time my grandparents had a Knox stove which they called a laundry stove. I have two dutch ovens made by them. When I was there it was a 3 man operation.

From what I’ve read, in the late 1880’s stove manufacturers started putting thermometers in the oven doors and didn’t stop up to today. As Knox Stove was formed in 1913 I suspect your stove is a relatively new model made to appear to be an antique.

I’m left wondering if it has significant wear & tear or seems hardly used? Sometimes the fasteners shed some light.

Although not speaking from knowledge per se, but I'm with Hilditch on it may be a newer model. My reasoning is the cutout lettering you said it has. I know that raised lettering was used pervasively in the early 1900s, I've never seen cutouts. This and a dollar and a half will get you a cup of coffee :D I hope you find out differently.
