I don't know why I didn't see this part of the forum until know. Sorry, this should of been my first post.

I recently got into cast iron after cooking a meal on my Teflon skillets that I received as wedding gift 16 years ago. While cooking I noticed that the Teflon was flaking off the bottom of the skillet. It got me thinking about where all the Teflon went that was missing from the skillet. :o So I started looking online for a better replacement for all the Teflon in my house. I stumbled on a few cast iron websites and began reading. I was about to pull the trigger on a cast iron set from Cabela's but didn't know which set to purchase. So I started reading the reviews and someone mentioned older cast iron was made much better. I then found this awesome website that has some much info. I purchased my first cast iron piece from a thrift store for $5 a few weeks ago and have been coming home pretty much everyday with a new piece. I have the cast iron bug pretty bad and my collection has grown quit a bit in the last few weeks. Here is a pic of my growing collection minus my chicken fryer

Steve are you saying I should send you my Christmas List ? I have a specific wish list going and the list gets bigger the more I learn.

LOL Tim, we can trade list. I think I only have 5-6 on mine it that may take some time to find in the wild. I waited 20+ years to find another collectable I didn't want to pay retail for.

The $1. 50 profit offer still stands on the #7 :mrgreen:
