Hi everyone my name is Perry Hall, from Stillwater Minnesota. I started collecting cast iron about 3 years ago fell into a thrift store got my first Griswold #6 large block logo and have been hooked ever since.
I've been really digging this hobby and getting into it more and more As time allows its turned into an obsession I haven't got a lot of pieces maybe about 15 total but I've probably Bought 30 to 40 and given half away to other people mostly the ones I didn't want or I have doubled up on none the less they love them and enjoy cooking in them as I have.
I have pan seared steaks for all my family and friends. Anyhow I am researching cooking and older c.i. and trying new things with this hobby. So far my favorites are the Griswolds but I'm really looking to get into the older 1900 -that Intrigue me
The cast iron collector was my first real spot to get really good information and I will be asking a lot of questions here forward
a big thank you for welcoming me into the club and I hope to talk to each and everyone of you. thanks again.
My latest thrift Store score I believe it to be a B.S.R century series Yet I received conflicting opinions. If you have any resources for futher data I would be very thankful.
I have read the unmarked cast iron section under BSR and both of my BSR skillets fall into that data
I have 2 skillets # 8 the other I believe to be a red mountain series. still I receive conflicting information through facebook BSR Bug group in a subjective way opposite of the cic data. I'd like to do some more research and then get back to you with photos tomorrow.
Until then thanks again.
