My name is Jay, and I am a cast iron addict.

I've only got 14 pieces in my collection thus far, but this game is far from over.

I found my way to this site trying to identify unmarked skillets, and I am very grateful for the educational information this site has provided. Thanks to this and a scarce few other sites on the internet, I can walk into an antique store and tell the junk from the treasures... I can chuckle to myself when I see the new Lodge #8 skillet hanging on the wall marked $35 next to the Iron Mountain by Griswold #9 marked $22... and yes, I now own that IM #9.

I'm here to learn and share my experiences. Glad to be here!

Look at it this way, most people here probably started with 1 piece unless they inherited their Mother's/Grandma's collection. You're well on your way to being on the Hoarders TV show. :p

I started with just 1 piece. Then inherited 2 more... and that's when I got hooked. 3 turned into 14 in short order.
