Broiler and bowl?

These are some recent finds. The broiler I've seen a drawing just like it in an antique guide, 1880's according to that. The tag said outdoor deco piece, I figured otherwise and pounced thinking $15 was stealing it. According to the guide, I did.

The bowl I thought might be a sauce pan. On the bottom by the pour spout it has 8 IN in large figures, inch high at least, and on the other side a large diamond with an M in it. In the middle is a gate mark. As with the broiler, I'd never seen such a thing, so I added it to the collection. At $25 I probably didn't steal it, but I doubt I got hurt.

The broiler was a great deal for you and could be a Favorite one as it matches the catalog illustration. But there are other broilers almost identical so not sure about Favorite. Could also have been made into the early 20th century.

I don't know about your bowl.

Thanks Steve, I remember the book saying Favorite. I'd been in the place several times before I finally bought it, lucky someone else didn't snag it first.
