Cracker Barrel

So I was at Cracker Barrel today and I got looking around at all of the things hanging from the ceiling and I noticed several vintage cast iron skillets. Two or three of them had outside heat rings thin walls and great big old ears. There was another one with the hole in the front of the skillet and what looked like a wall around the hole. Something to do with venting smoke from the stove into the skillet I believe I was told. I asked how much they wanted for all of the skillets and they told me that none of them were for sale! I sat there and ruled not because the food but because I had to stare at these Skillets and not buy them!

Every different C.B. I visit has some vintage cast iron. The finest spider skillet I've ever seen was over the fireplace at C.B. It was smooth as glass. With no pitting anywhere and I thought what a waste. I'd be using that thing! Love their food though.

Oh I just love the ones with the big old ears.
