How to Ruin a Perfect Seasoning Job, Fast

Buy a set of dollar store oven mitts! This oven mitt melted on skillet handle when I used it to remove the pan after 15 minutes in order to give it a second wipe. I am hoping a buff with steel wool & another swipe with shorting rag has saved the job. It will be a few hours before I know for sure.

I use either those double thickness cotton oven gloves or some long ones with silicon patterns on them... still double thickness 'high temp' grilling or oven gloves... nothing to melt... but they do hold some heat after getting oil soaked into them if you are doing 3 or 4 pieces at the same time...
