Default Got Lucky This Week

I had a pretty good week hunting iron. On Wednesday I came across a #4 single notch Lodge, then on Sunday, my first ERIE skillet and also what I think is a #7 Griswold slant logo. I almost fell over when I saw the ERIE for $25

Nice finds, the ERIE looks like it is in good shape. Shame about the pitting on the other skillet but hopefully will be a good user for you.

ChuckP, don't go back in that store again, they'll get you for Highway Robbery lol. 1 notch #4 for $4!!! That is probably a better deal than the Erie for $25.

Which skillet has pitting. They all look like they just have a lot of carbon buildup.

Just wanted to mention that the bottom of that #7 seemed a little off to me. It wasn't really pitted but that center area just looked weird. The cooking surface was real smooth though.
All three are in a bath right now. I'll post them up again after they are cleaned.

For as many times as I have walked out of that Goodwill store empty handed,
they should have paid me to take that #4

I can't make it out in your pics... is the #4 marked (arc lodge) or not?

Update- I checked the bath today to see how things were doing. Slow but sure they are coming clean. The ERIE and the #4 Lodge look to be smooth and flat.
Now that #7 slant logo is another story. It looks to my rookie eyes that the sand shifted when the pattern was removed. Inside the circle, from
about 3 o'clock to about 6 o'clock are all voids, but outside the circle are all high spots.
I'm not sure if this is a old recast or just a real poor casting from Griswold. Maybe the experts here can offer up some opinions on what I have here.

Just another variety of sulphur pitting.
